Yes we are! With the return of cruise ship visitors to Costa Maya full services to Kohunlich. We also offer private tours of any Costa Maya Ruin site as well as off the beaten path excursions. We also have limited availability English speaking escort service. Departing from your hotel/resort. We also offer car/van rentals with or with out drivers.
Where do tours depart from?
All tours depart from our location in the fisherman's village of Mahahual. We are located next to "Tequila Beach Club" on the south side (right Side). View map
How do we get to you office?
From the port of Costa Maya you will take a port shuttle getting off at "Tequila Beach Club", be sure to ask the driver to drop you there. Why don´t you pick up cruise passengers from the port?
The port at Costa Maya is a private port with it´s own transportation companies and rules. Due to port regulations only their transporters can leave the port with passengers.
Do we have to take the shuttle back as well?
No after your tour we will take you back to the port or the village. If you decide to be dropped in the village you will need to use a local taxi to return to the port.
Do I have to make reservations in advance?
Yes, we make arrangements day by day as to the number of vans, drivers, and guides. Therefore pre book all tours.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We use PayPal as our online payment system for your deposit. You can pay with credit cards, checks, bank transfers, or you PayPal account.
Do I have to pay in full when I make a reservation?
No, we only require a 20% deposit to book your tour. Your balance is due in US dollars at time of check in.
What if my ship does not come to Costa Maya?
If for any reason your ship does not call port in Costa Maya you will receive a full refund, in the form of a PayPal refund.
What if I want to cancel my reservation?
You may cancel at anytime for any reason with at least 14 days notice prior to your tour date and receive a full refund. 13 to 7 days prior to your tour and receive a 50% refund. 6 days or less no refund.
My cruise ship has an age limit for their tours. Do you?
No, small children are welcome with parent supervision. Elderly requiring assistance are also welcome with their care giver.
I have a handicapped family member, can they take your tour?
Yes, with their care provider. The ruin site is uneven ground for mush of the tour. Please keep this in mind. Manuel wheel chairs can go on the tour. Motorized wheel chairs are not able to take this tour.
What form of transportation do you use?
Normally we use air conditioned vans of up to 14 passengers, we also have cars for very small groups.
Will this be a private tour or will there be others with us?
Our tours are normally groups of upto 14 passengers, so if your groups is smaller you will be with others. You may book private tours by contacting our sales manager.
Can we have a private tour?
Yes, we offer private tour for 2 people or more. You will need to make arrangements at booking for private tours.
Will we have an english speaking guide?
Yes, at time of booking you can request a guide that speaks your language.
How long is the drive to Kohunlich?
From our location in the village Kohunlich is about 1 hour 30 minutes.
Can we take pictures at the site?
Yes, cameras are permitted. There is a fee small for video cameras and tripods. This fee is not include in your tour price.
Should I tip the guide? or is the tip included in price of tour?
Yes, here in Costa Maya your tip makes up a portion of their pay. If you received good service and had a nice tour it is proper to tip. The price of your tour does not include the tip.
